Role: Horticultural Trainee

The Council's shrub and tree nursery located at Harewood is responsible for the seed collection, propagation and production of the vast majority of plants required to support the Council's capital and maintenance programmes within the city's greenspaces.
We're after a horticultural enthusiast who is looking to pursue a career by gaining practical horticultural experience within our Production Nursery. This three-year fixed term apprenticeship will result in the NZ Certificate in Horticulture Production- Nursery Production (Level 4); a qualification that is highly respected by the horticulture industry both in NZ and overseas.
You'll have an active interest in horticulture, a level 2 certificate and good reading and writing ability. To work outside, you'll be in tip top physical health, and you'll love working in a team environment learning from the best.
This is a chance to work as an important member of a dedicated and passionate team, in a supportive environment. You get to combine your love of nature and desire to work outside on a daily basis, all while gaining a national qualification.
