Located just south of Templeton (Christchurch), we specialise in supplying healthy, hardy plants for a wide range of projects across New Zealand. These include native revegetation plantings, landscaping, forestry, fruit and nut trees, and ornamental trees and shrubs for around the house.

Primary responsibilities, tasks, and duties

These may include, but are not limited to:

  • Quality control – weeding, grading, quality control, general plant and site maintenance
  • Production – potting machine operation, hand potting, laying out plants
  • Propagation - Cuttings, Seed cleaning and sowing, mother plant care
  • Ensure that your work and working environment comply with OSH standards.

Skills Required

  • Physical - performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, walking, stooping, and handling materials
  • Teamwork – a resourceful team player who excels at building trusting relationships with work colleagues.
  • Communication - High attention to detail and accuracy, along with excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to Learn – Reasonable technical knowledge required to perform well in the role over time. Interest in plants, gardening and horticulture is crucial to learn this on the job.

  • Experience applying agrichemicals (GrowSafe licence is an advantage)
  • Experience driving tractors and/or forklifts

Working Conditions

Most of the working day will involve standing, crouching, and reaching. Some heavy lifting may be required at times.

To be considered for this role, you will need a positive attitude and willingness to learn and work with minimum supervision in an outdoor environment.
