Event Detail

Nominations are open now for the prestigious Carol Fraser Industry Training Award (Fraser Award) and will close April 24 so don't wait to put forward your top talent.

Established by the family of the late Carol Fraser of Growing Spectrum, this award honours Carol's incredible legacy of industry training and professional development for plant producers. The Fraser Award is a chance to support outstanding individuals who share Carol's passion for plants, learning, and our industry. It is open to the wider industry, not just people working in nurseries but also those working in plant science or technology.

The winner of this annual award will receive a specially-designed trophy donated by the Fraser family, an all-inclusive package to attend the NZPPI conference and innovation day May 15 & 16 in Hamilton, and a prize pool of around $5000 for learning-associated costs.

Open to individuals enrolled in or recently completed training and education related to plant production, the award is a fantastic opportunity for emerging young leaders.

  • The 2022 winner, Dani McBride, has been promoted to nursery manager at Rural Designs in Mangawhai.
  • The 2023 winner, Alice Buschl  is a graduate of the Fruition Level 6 Diploma in Horticulture Production and currently works as the Ellepot Team Leader at Waimea Nurseries.
