Role: Plant Propagator
Location: Yaldhurst, Christchurch
Description
Arcadia Plants is a large wholesale plant nursery in Yaldhurst Christchurch producing a range of shrubs and perennials for the Garden Centre market. We are seeking a person for a full time position in the propagation area of the nursery.
Duties will include
- Plant propagation from cuttings in large numbers,deflasking and setting tissue culture.
- Maintenance of young liner plants such as watering, trimming,weeding and shifting
- Looking after stock plants
- Potting up of young plants
Applicants will need the following qualities and experience
- Proven experience in commercial cutting propagation producing high numbers per day.
- Good plant knowledge is essential and a Horticultural qualification an advantage
- Have the ability to work by themselves and with a small team while communicating effectively to reach targets.
- Be fit,motivated, have initiative and happy to work outside and inside.

- Specific training in cutting production and general plant care will be given.
- Hours of work ideally 8 to 4.30 Monday to Friday
- Competitive pay dependent on qualifications and experience
