EVENTS

Events and competitions are held throughout the year to promote plant production as a fulfilling and rewarding career.

National Fieldays

Plant Careers has a stand each year at National Fieldays as part of the Fieldays Careers and Education Hub. The Hub is the place for students, job seekers and visitors to learn about food and fibre career pathways and to consider joining the primary sector.

During the annual event, NZPPI team members speak with many high school students, teachers and people looking for a career change. And to encourage them to play cornhole! The Ministry for Primary Industry bring in dozens of secondary schools to visit Fieldays.

NZPPi member Zealandia Horticulture is always an incredible support to the Plant Careers stand, donating hundreds of seedlings as giveaways, which are a real drawcard.
