Role: Plant Centre Sales Assistant (Fixed Term)

If you have retail experience, a love of gardening and a customer-focused attitude, we are looking for someone to join our team at Southern Woods!
We are looking for a friendly, inspirational and knowledgeable person to join our busy retail team, working Saturdays only in a great rural environment!
The position is a seasonal fixed term ending at the end of October 2022.
You will be handling phone calls, selling plants, trees, and planting accessories, not to mention helping customers plan their gardens. We have one of the most comprehensive plant nurseries, so there are lots to learn and be stimulated by. Maintenance is also essential, and we pride ourselves in operating a tidy and inspiring Plant Centre.
The appointed person will already have a good level of experience in residential and rural gardening, be passionate about plants, have attention to detail, and enjoy creating exciting displays. There are also great opportunities for the right person to grow in our business.
Southern Woods is a locally owned independent Plant Centre located between Templeton and Rolleston. We stock an extensive range of shrubs and trees and a more targeted range of garden accessories. We pride ourselves in our gardening advice and in delivering the “Southern Woods Experience” through our knowledge of gardening on the ‘Plains’ and providing superior customer service and attention!

- Knowledge of Te Reo Maori and NZ Sign Language would be an advantage but is not a prerequisite.
