Role: Nursery Worker

Zealandia Horticulture is a leading Horticultural company with locations in Christchurch and Auckland. We supply a wide range of plants to garden centres, chain stores and commercial vegetable growers throughout New Zealand. We are recruiting for several permanent full-time positions at our Vega Place House plant nursery in Avoca Valley, Christchurch.

These positions encompass all aspects of nursery work, including production, watering, monitoring plant health and working with the Team to ensure crops are grown to the highest standard.

We seek applicants with the following attributes.

• A genuine interest in horticulture
• An energetic and enthusiastic attitude – enjoys some outdoor work
• Desire to learn – experience not necessary
• Attention to detail
• Good communication skills and a positive problem-solving attitude
• Be fit, in good health and capable of physical work
• Able to do extended hours during peak seasons
• Ability to work on roster – weekend work required (minimum 1 day per fortnight in Spring)
• Able to work independently or as part of a team
• Enjoy the achievement of products grown to a high standard

Zealandia offers a friendly, positive work environment and a competitive wage rate.
The hours are Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm with overtime as required.
